I actually bought this CD for my father and on Christmas I downloaded it to my ipod.so many classic 50's songs that we all love and remember. Takes me back to my childhood nights listening to my parents with all of their friends.
When people come in my house and hear it playing they don't want to leave, they just want to stay and listen. This collection is lots of fun. Well worth the trouble to order it. A really good assortment. There isn't one clunker in the collection. Actually, it is no trouble at all. Just lots of fun.
I purchased this CD for a fall get-together of a fun, energetic group of my husband's high school classmates (class of '57). I noticed them all singing along at various times during the evening. As they all turned 70 years of age this year, I thought a group birthday party/BBQ would be fun. The CD was perfect. I think there might have been a little dancing, too. I am totally satisfied with this CD.
This is great music. It is what I went to high school on. Brings back memories
Other copies of this song may also have this, but I noticed it here."Shout" has a tic, the kind of sound you get from a vinyl record. There may be other quality questions. This certainly seems to be a good selection of original artists and original hits. I haven't reviewed all of the tunes carefully since I didn't need all of them. Some people might think I'm being picky. However, I noted a few quality matters. On "Since I Don't Have You", there is a faint glitch toward the end. I've heard this on two different copies of this CD."La Bamba" cuts off abruptly. Maybe I just notice more because I've done a lot of editing to remove noise when transferring from vinyl to CD. In my opinion, all songs on published CDs should have been carefully edited.FYI: I'm a record collector of 50 years and a sometimes deejay.
